Privacy policy
Last updated 30 July 2026. This policy covers the Brûlée Focus Chrome extension. It is short because there is very little to describe: the extension has no server, so there is nowhere for anything to be sent.
Nothing. Brûlée Focus has no backend, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising and no accounts. It makes no network requests of any kind. Nothing about you or your browsing is transmitted anywhere, because there is no destination.
Your settings are held in chrome.storage.local, which lives on your own computer and is not synced to your Google account or anywhere else. That is: whether the cat is shown, her size, her position on the page, the state of the focus timer, and a local tally of finished sessions, minutes protected and cups emptied.
Uninstalling Brûlée Focus removes all of it. Nothing survives the uninstall and there is no copy elsewhere.
Brûlée Focus does not read your browsing history, the contents of the pages you visit, form fields, cookies, passwords or anything you type. Its content script draws the cat into a closed shadow root and reads nothing back out of the page it is drawn on.
Brûlée Focus requests two: storage, to keep the settings above, and alarms, so a focus session can end at the right moment even when no page is open. It requests no host permissions.
Chrome will still warn that the extension can “read and change your data on the websites you visit”. That warning is triggered by the content script needing to run on ordinary pages in order to draw a cat on them. It describes what Chrome permits, not what Brûlée Focus does. What Brûlée Focus does is in the source, which is public.
Brûlée Focus is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children. No data is sold, shared or transferred to third parties, because none is collected. There are no third-party services, SDKs or fonts loaded by the extension.
If this policy ever changes, the revised version will appear at this URL with a new date above, and any change that affects what is collected will ship alongside an extension update describing it.
